Nice Try Souja Boy

Video Provided by DatPiff.com

After a career long disaster of chillingly horrific lyrics, Soulja Boy makes his apparent debut as a real emcee. This time instead of the undecipherable jabberwocky usually proceeding a "YEEOOUUUUUUU", he decides to - as demonstrated in a faux studio session - "double time it" with a rapid delivery, rapping in thirds - a trademark of Bone Thugs and Harmony, for instance.

But despite this cute and honest attempt to clean up his image and perhaps save his career, the listener will automatically say two words after listening: "Nice Try."

Not only are his words extremely jumbled and undecipherable, the studio session he showcases his "flow" in is obviously not real. As he doesn't even move his lips three-fourths of the song which he's supposed to be "re-enacting", the camera man shooting the event deems it necessary to shake the camera omni-directionally to decieve the viewer into thinking Soulja Boy is actually rapping! How cheap.

Needless to say, I'm encouraged that he's trying to switch it up - I was surprised - but at best this is "fun" and "cute" and not "dope" and "skillful".

Perhaps this cats career is over. Perhaps it isn't but these recent sporadic attempts to un-taint his already doomed legacy is only tarnishing his currently obsidian luster even more. Should we feel sorry for him? HELL NAH!
